How does the stroke-by-stroke drawing work?

When you enter a prompt, our AI generates a high-quality image. We then run edge detection algorithms on that image to find all the outlines, contours, and detail lines. These paths are then animated one at a time with a moving tool cursor — just like watching a real artist draw. The result is a genuine stroke-by-stroke animation of your image being created from a blank canvas.

Can I download my artwork?

Yes! You can download your finished artwork as a high-resolution PNG image, or save the entire drawing animation as an animated GIF. The GIF captures every frame of the stroke-by-stroke drawing process, making it perfect for sharing on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook.

What is Presentation Mode?

Presentation Mode lets you create a multi-slide animated presentation where each slide draws itself live. You can add up to 50 slides, set the total presentation duration from 1 to 30 minutes, add captions, and write narration scripts for each slide that are read aloud by a voice as the drawing happens. It's ideal for business pitches, school projects, marketing videos, and explainer content.

Can I upload my own images?

Absolutely! You can upload any photo, logo, chart, or illustration and our engine will trace it into stroke paths and animate it being drawn from scratch. This is a great way to animate your own artwork, bring a company logo to life, or create an animated version of any image you already have.

What art styles are available?

WatchItDraw currently offers six art styles: Pencil Sketch (black and white detailed linework with a moving pencil cursor), Watercolor (soft pastel brushstrokes with wet bloom effects), Cartoon (bold flat colors with clean ink lines), Oil Paint (rich textured impasto brushwork), Chalk (dusty white strokes on a dark blackboard with chalk dust particles), and Pixel Art (a retro 8-bit spiral reveal). More styles are planned for future updates.

Do credits expire?

No — credits never expire and there are no monthly fees or subscriptions. Purchase a credit pack once and use them at your own pace. Packs range from 10 credits for $1.99 all the way up to 350 credits for $49.99. Each credit generates one AI image with the full stroke-by-stroke animation included.

Is my artwork saved anywhere?

WatchItDraw does not store your generated images on our servers. All artwork is generated on demand and displayed directly in your browser. Make sure to download your PNG or GIF before leaving the page or generating a new image. Your credit balance is stored locally in your browser.
